I’m currently reading First and First by Santino Hassell.
I still can’t believe that I was really lucky enough to get an ARC. When I requested it I wasn’t sure I’d actually get it. But thought I had to at least try.
I’m only halfway through and I LOVE it. To be honest I loved it after the first chapter already. Mr. Hassell is a master storyteller and First and First is just another story to prove that.
It’s definitely the dirtiest one out of the three, and is probably my favourite.
I was all prepared to not like Caleb, because he really wasn’t my favourite character in Sunset Park, but damn! You really can not not love him. He’s so flawed and vulnerable and far from what I expected him to be like.
I wish I had more reading time though.
I’m currently visiting my mum (until saturday) and don’t really have much time to read. By the time I go to bed I’m too tired to read long. Suffice to say I’m really looking forward to the three hour long train-ride on saturday. 😉
As soon as it’s up for pre-order you really should hit that button as fast as you can!
Caleb Stone was raised on the Upper East Side, where wealth and lineage reigns, and “alternative lifestyles” are hidden. It took him years to come out to his family, but he’s still stuck in the stranglehold of their expectations. Caleb knows he has to build his confidence and shake things up, but he doesn’t know how… until Oliver Buckley enters the picture.
Oli is everything Caleb isn’t—risk-taking, provocative, and fiercely independent. Disowned by his family, Oli has made his own way in the world and is beholden to no one. After a chance encounter on New Year’s Eve, Caleb is smitten.
As Caleb sheds the insecurities that have held him back for years, he makes bold steps toward changing his career and escaping years of sexual repression. But for Caleb to take full control of his life, he has to be brave enough to confront his feelings and trust Oli with his heart.
Leave a comment and tell me what you’re reading right now.
Until next time! 🙂
